Mr. Mydock practices DUI and criminal defense trial law statewide with an office in Saint Augustine. His experience includes over 3,000 criminal cases and over 40 trials completed to verdict. Mr. Mydock accepts criminal cases from DUI to felony offenses punishable by life.
From 2010 to 2015, Mr. Mydock served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Seventh Judicial Circuit (St. Johns, Flagler, Putnam, and Volusia counties) for State Attorney R.J. Larizza. He tried cases in the DUI, misdemeanor, and felony divisions. He also served as the drug trafficking prosecutor and internship director for St. Johns County.
While at SAO7, Mr. Mydock prosecuted multiple high profile cases, including four homicide cases that resulted in guilty verdicts at trial.
In 2014, he appeared in a nationwide television segment by ABC 20/20 about an extortion and aggravated cyberstalking case that he prosecuted. In 2015, Mr. Mydock earned the SAO7 "Top Gun" Trial Award for his work as a felony prosecutor.
Mr. Mydock was born and raised in Gainesville, FL. He gradated from the University of Florida college of business and college of law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance ('06) and Juris Doctor ('09) from UF. While in law school, Mr. Mydock was a member of Florida Blue Key, a Certified Legal Intern in the felony division of the State Attorney's Office (Alachua County), and a teaching assistant for Trial Practice. While in undergrad, Mr. Mydock was a Bright Futures Scholar while serving as Vice President and Comptroller for the largest fraternity on campus, the Florida Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Mr. Mydock currently serves in the UF Alumni Association as President-Elect of the Gator Club of Saint Augustine.
Travis Drew Eden Mydock, B.C.S. is a Board Certified Specialist and Expert in Criminal Trial Law as recognized by The Florida Bar. Less than 1% of all attorneys in Florida hold this qualification. As a Board Certified Criminal Trial Lawyer, Mr. Mydock has passed peer review, a written examination, practiced criminal law for over 5 years, completed advanced continuing legal education courses, and a minimum of 25 criminal trials to verdict. Mr. Mydock has served the Seventh Judicial Circuit as Governor on The Florida Bar, Young Lawyers Division, Board of Governors since 2015. He also currently serves as President of the St. Johns County Chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (since 2018). He previously served as President of the St. Johns County Bar Association (2018) and Chairman of The Florida Bar, Grievance Committee B, for the Seventh Judicial Circuit (2019). From 2015-2018, Mr. Mydock served as a member of the Traffic Court Rules Committee. Mr. Mydock is a member of the Criminal Law Section of The Florida Bar and an Advisor to other attorneys in the Lawyers Advising Lawyers program offered by The Florida Bar. Mr. Mydock has taught several continuing legal education courses for the Saint Johns County Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar. He also regularly serves as an invited judge for UF Law's annual national mock trial competition.
